Adamantane oxyls

Hexafluorobiacetyl has featured in reports dealing with (i) primary photochemical processes (ii) photochemistry of its vapour (CFs CO CO-CFs + hv- CsFe + 2CO dissociation occurs from two different electronic states, most likely the second excited singlet and triplet) (iii) radical-ion formation (see p. 270) (iv) reactions with trimethyl pho hite and l-phospha-2,8,9-trioxa>adamantane (see p. 262) and (v) studies on perfluoromorpholine iV-oxyl (see p. 238). 

While nitroxyl radicals, e.g., (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-l-yl)oxyl (TEMPO) (2014COR459) and 2-aza-adamantane-Al-oxyl (AZADO) (2006JA8412), have been used extensively as catalysts in the oxidation of alcohols, there have been no reports of analogous uses for hydrazyls and... 

Chiral 2-azadamantane-N-oxyls can also be used for kinetic resolution of secondary alcohols via asymmetric oxidation [131]. S-Factors of up to 82.2 were achieved for a range of cyclic and acyclic secondary alcohols using aza-adamantane catalyst 44 (Scheme 19.22).
