Access and facilities for the fire brigade

For the fire brigade to be able to deal effectively with a fire and protect life, it is essential that they have adequate access to all parts of the premises and that suitable facilities, such as a supply of water, are available to them. [Pg.697]

A section of the Building Regulations requires that the building design and constmction incorporate facilities to assist fire-fighters in the protection of life and include  [Pg.697]

1 sufficient means of external access to enable fire appliances to be brought near to the building for effective use  [Pg.697]

2 sufficient means of access into, and within, the building for fire-fighting personnel to effect rescue and fight fire  [Pg.697]

3 the building to be provided with sufficient internal fire mains and other facilities to assist fire-fighters in their tasks  [Pg.697]
