Accounting absorption

As has been noted above, [Fe(HB(pz)3)2] undergoes a color change from deep violet to white upon heating, a change that is clearly revealed in its electronic absorption spectrum, see Fig. 4. The 297 K spectrum is dominated by a very intense charge-transfer band centered in the ultraviolet region and a less intense band centered at 19,000 cm-1. These absorptions account for... 

This suggests that in susceptible patients the margin of safety may be quite narrow (SED-12, 982). It is possible that reduced absorption accounted for the improvement in this case, but attention should perhaps be focused on peak plasma concentrations rather than average steady-state concentrations.

True absorption meets the definition given previously and accounts for all material which crosses the Intestinal epithelium Into blood or lymph. The aerosol by-products of exploded DU munitions are primarily the uranium oxides with varying dissolution rates. Uranium trioxide (UO3) is soluble like uranyl salts, and systemic absorption accounts for more than 20% of the exposure burden, with 20% of the excreted uranium being in the urine (Morrow et al, 1964, 1972, 1982). UO3, being soluble, has a fast dissolution rate (Type F), and is rapidly removed from the lung (half-life of 4.7 days). Uranium... 

Information is limited to these reports but it appears to be a elinieally important interaetion. Monitor the effeets of eoneurrent use and separate the doses of ferrous sulfate and levothyroxine by 2 hours or more on the assumption that reduced absorption accounts for this interaction. Monitor well. The same precautions would seem appropriate with any other iron compound. 

Three levels of calcium in the diet were next used —low, medium, and high—the diet being free of phosphate. A very considerable difference in Ca absorbed was observed. The vitamin D rats absorbed distinctly more Ca than the vitamin D-free rats at all three levels. It was calculated that deficient absorption accounted for 80 to 90%of the Ca now found in the feces from vitamin D-deficient rats and that only 10 to 20% was due to the extra loss of endogenous Ca. These data were not submitted to statistical analysis, however.

Accoimting procedure takes these costs, amounting to 45% of all costs, and divides them by direct labor to produce an overhead rate. In this case, the overhead rate is (45/25) x 100% = 180%. Thus, for each direct labor dollar incurred, an additional 1.80 would be charged, for a total of 2.80. This illustrates absorption accounting. This is because the direct cost in the form of labor has "absorbed" the indirect cost.
