ABET and MSCHE Learning Outcomes

In a very similar manner, MSCHE states that assessment of student learning demonstrates that, at graduation, or other appropriate points, the institution s students have knowledge, skills, and competencies consistent with institutional and appropriate higher education goals (MSCHE 2009, p. 63). They describe the four-step assessment process as  

Providing learning opportuiuties where students can achieve the learning outcomes 

Using the results of the assessments to improve smdent learning (MSCHE 2009) 

ABET (2009, pp. 2-3) also puts forth a set of learning outcomes that students should be able to achieve by the time of graduation, which in the Computing Accreditation Conmtission context are  

These outcomes are not traly prescriptive because programs are free to have their own learning outcomes. Programs only need to demonstrate that these ABET learning outcomes are being covered. The assessment program at ZU is able to meet the assessment requirements of both accreditors.
