Learning to write an outline is the most helpful process you can complete before beginning to write your paper. Although it may seem ditficult, if you have compiled your note cards, you are already well on your way towards completing your first outline. This lesson will show you how to construct a preliminary outline from your note cards, and use it as a guide tor writing and thinking about the tirst draft of your paper. 

First of all, keeping a learning journal helps to ensure that you keep up with the course timetable of reading and other activities, by processing one section before you reach the next. When you write regularly about the ideas and information on a course, you are thinking about the material in your own words. This helps you to understand and remember. 

Interviewing is a two-way process While the interviewer is assessing you, you are evaluating whether this is the best position and company for you. Will it allow you to use your skills, learn, and excel The chart you made in Chapter 3 (Exhibit 3-3, Ten Requirements for the Ideal Job) will help you analyze your prospective employer. Take a look at your list of requirements. How does the company stack up against your criteria Did you get all the information you wanted to know about the company from the interviewer What questions could you ask next time to learn more Review the list carefully before the next interview. If you think you might forget some questions, bring the list with you.
