A Guide to the GPDC Interpolation Charts

The GPDC (generalized pressure drop correlation) interpolation charts are all numbered in the chapter number (10) followed by a 4-digit suffix. The four digits stand for the foUowing 

10-13 second generation random paddngs 20-23 common third generation random packings 30-35 other third generation random packii  

50 wire-mesh structured packings 60-65 corrugated sheet structured packings 80-82 grids 

Third digit gives the packing material. 0 = metal 1 plastic 2 = ceramic. 

Fourth digit is an indicator of the nominal size of the packing. For reuidom packings, it is roughly twice the nominal packing size. For structure packings, it is rou ily 8 times the crimp height.
