Xwo kinds of reactions are possible to occur during talyzed reaction

XX-10 shows a vertical cut through the reference ENHS module while Fig. XX-11 shows an alternative ENHS module design that uses a lift-pump integrated within the riser. Cover gas from the top of the module is injected into the coolant just above the core. The cover gas bubbles reduce the effective density of coolant in the riser, thus increasing the head for coolant circulation. The circulator would be located above the reactor pool, outside of the module vessel. A lift-pump for the secondary coolant is integrated within the module

XX-14 defines the heat removal path under nominal operating conditions, at hot low power conditions and during the worst accident that, for the ENHS reactor, is a loss of heat sink accident.

XX-3 summarizes the categorization of DBEs and BDBEs for the KALIMER. This figure also gives the lists of events for each category. Figures XX-4 and XX-5 show the system response for two typical unprotected events

XX-9 shows the radial location of the control elements relative to the core, while their axial location at full power is shown in Fig. XX-2. The active element for both central and peripheral absorbers is B4C and tungsten being heavier than Pb-Bi tungsten can scram by

XXI-6 shows the heat transport path from the core to the ultimate sink during normal operation and under emergency conditions. The normal heat removal system is based on a three-circuit design and includes a loopless circuit for industrial applications and district heating. The steam-water circuit is designed to supply steam to the turbine generators of 500 or 800 MW power, taking the heat from three or five BMN-170 reactors.
