Both 163 and 163 were then acetylated, and the 1II-NMR spectra at 500MHz of the two acetyl derivatives were compared with that of the acetyl derivative prepared from the natural ceramide B. By this comparison, it became clear that ceramide B is (2S,3R,4E, 6R)-163. There were observed completely different signal patterns at 5 = 5.0-5.8, and the acetyl derivative prepared from 163 showed the identical -NMR spectrum with the authentic spectrum of the acetylated ceramide B. It is said that the content of ceramide B in old people is higher than that in young people. The hydroxylation at C-6 may reflect the aging of epidermis. 

In preparing the pupils for the activity, the teacher would be expected to conduct a warm up prior to activity on the apparatus, provide instructions and/or demonstration of the expectations during the lesson, and maintain adequate supervision of the class throughout the lesson.
