Some or all of these methods can be used depending upon the feed gas temperature. 

The Claus process recovers elemental sulfur from gaseous hydrogen sulfide. 

Additional acid mist is collected in the secondary filter located above the tubes. A third filter is sometimes used and is located immediately after the condenser. The third filter is either a candle-type mist eliminator (Fig. 9.3) or wet electrostatic precipitator (Section 4.2). 

The feed gas enters the WS A plant either with sufficient pressure to flow through the plant or is pushed through the plant with single or multiple fans (in series) to overcome the pressure losses created by the heat exchangers, catalyst beds, and condenser.
