This chapter addresses the gap in the literature by applying the schema-focused approach to the treatment of work dysfunctions. It extrapolates from the application of schema therapy in other settings to the work place. Unfortunately, an in-depth discussion of the detailed schema treatment strategies for each specific work dysfunction identified in Chapter 13 is beyond the scope of this book. However, this chapter presents an overview of the assessment, formulation and some of the main schema treatment strategies which can be applied to treat work dysfunctions. 

The aim of the interview is to identify dysfunctional work patterns and the associated underlying early maladaptive schemata (EMS). The therapist also aims to obtain a better understanding of the origins of these EMS and, using this information, attempts to understand the nature of the re-enactment taking place through the work dysfunction manifested.
