Ruiz de Adanaa, R., Lopeza, L. M., and Salab, J. M. (2005). A Fickian model for calculating wine losses from oak casks depending on conditions in ageing facilities. Appl. Thermal Eng. 25, 709-718. [Pg.181]

Clarifying fining lees tangential micro filtration, using membranes with pore diameters from 0.2 to 0.8 p.m, was compared with a rotary vacuum filter (Serrano, 1994). The flow rates were lower (50-100 1/h/m instead of 350-500 1/h/m ) but clarification was better, both in terms of much lower turbidity as well as the elimination of microorganisms. Wine losses were also lower ... [Pg.361]

Both molybdenum and tungsten can be worked in air without ductiHty loss. AH refractory metals can be made into tubing by extmsion, and most refractory metals, except chromium, are available as wine. Tungsten wines were attempted as fiber reinforcement for experimental nickel-base composites. [Pg.128]

People are astonished in France that the sale of French wines should not have become more extended here in England] since the Commercial Treaties. The reason is simple enough. At first we eagerly welcomed those [French] wines, but we soon had the sad experience that there was too much loss occasioned by the diseases [souring] to which they are subject. [Pg.46]
