The mixed cyclopentadiene ferrocene [Cp CpFe] (1,2,3,4,5-pentamethylferrocene) undergoes formation of CT complexes with TCNE in two different stoichiometries [17a]. The 2 3 phase contains both neutral TCNE molecules and [(TCNE)2] dimer anions, as well as THF of crystallization. In contrast, the 1 1 phase is constituted by ID-DADA chains.
