Water structure enforced ion pairing

Enforced pairing effects (EP). Stronger ion pairing occurs within the stationary phase than in the aqueous solution because of a combination of effects that may include hydro-phobic attraction, hydrogen bonding, lower dielectric constant and what has been termed water-structure induced ion pairing . [Pg.120]
