W-S bonds

The reaction of aqueous WS4 with dilute HC1 gives the [W3OS8]2- ion.248 Its structure consists of the WO unit bonded to two WS4 ligands with a short W—O, distance of 1.68(2) A. [W3S9]2- has also been prepared.248,249 Its structure is very similar to that of [W3OS8]2- with a W—S, bond length of 2.07(1) A. In this complex, the geometry around the central WIV ion is that of a distorted square pyramid. [Pg.997]

The structures of all three oxidation states in the tungsten bdt series have been reported. The W(IV) and W(V) states are similar to the Mo analogs [178], The bis(oxido) W(VI) complex is a distorted octahedron. The W—S bonds tram to the oxido ligand are lengthened with W—S distances cis to the oxido at 2.425(4) A and tram to the oxido at 2.597(4) A, respectively. The W(VI) complex reacts with benzoin to give benzil (Eq. 12), but only reacts slowly with PPh3 [183],... [Pg.123]

The dinuclear species [ W (CO)2Tp 2(/u.-S)] was obtained by refluxing [W(CO)2Tp Br] or [W(CO)3Tp H] with propylene sulfide in 1,2-dichloroethane. The W-S-W chain is nearly linear, suggesting multiple bond character within the group, consistent with relatively short W-S bonds (2,17-2.18 A). [Pg.4969]

Addition of trimethylamine IV-oxide to [W 0(bdt)2] and to [WO(S2C2Me2)2] afforded the W(VI) complexes [W02(bdt)2] and [W02(S2C2Me2)2] , in which the 0x0 groups were mutually cis. Because of trans influences, the W-S bonds trans to the 0x0 groups in [W02(bdt)2] (as the Et4N+ salt) were longer (2.60 A) than those which were cis (2.43 A). Reaction of aqueous W04 with mnt in the presence of an excess of HSOs" (pH 5.5) followed by addition of acetic acid afforded the structurally similar [W02(mnt)2l . [Pg.4961]

Cyclic aminocarbene thioether chelate complexes containing Cr-5 or W-S bonds arise in complicated reactions of... [Pg.241]

In the tungsten complex [W(SC6F5)3(CO)(> -Cp)] exchange between the two isomers (17a) and (17b) can occur by rotation about the W—S bonds or by inversion at the pyramidal sulfurs. F NMR studies could not distinguish between the two processes. In the square planar... [Pg.341]
