Voids of dry compacted filler Rigden test

This test is conducted on both natural and artificial fillers to determine their ability to retain bitumen. It is related to the space availability within the compacted filler. 

Using the particle density of filler, the air void content of the compacted filler (v) is calculated from the following formula
