Viscosity of colloidal solutions

The viscosities of Colloid solutions that are prepared by gentle mixing can be maintained stable for at least two months. 

The effect of pH on viscosity of colloidal solutions Is very distinct. The macromolecules contain a number of positive and/or negative charges on them (therefore called pofyelectrolytes). The charges produce electrostatic effects which can profoundly influence the solution behaviour of the macromolecule.
