Proof of structure is also born out in the proton NMR spectra. The downfield peak due to the deshielded chelated proton disappears on addition of D O, indicating the lability of this N-H bond. Other characteristic frequencies associated with the ring are also evident (Table 1). The vinyl proton NMR peak is in the region from 1.8 to 2.1 ppm and the vinyl methyl protons resonate at from 4.4 to 4.9 ppm. The H-NMR spectra of the model compound and the pol5nner from MXD and BAAP are shown in Figures 3 an 4, respectively.
