MELANOMA The Small intestine is a common metastatic site of cutaneous melanomas primary melanomas arise rarely in the gastrointestinal tract and are most common in the anorectum and esophagus. Their immuno-phenotype is identical to their cutaneous counterparts they stain with vimentin, S-100, HMB-45, melan-A, and tyrosinase (Fig. 14.35).
