Vibrio Jluvialis

The (S)-co-TA from Vibrio Jluvialis was found to catalyze the reduction of acetophenone to (S)-a-methylbenzylamine with the concomitant oxidation of L-alanine to pyruvate. The enantiomeric excess was always >99% e.e. As thermodynamic equilibrium strongly favors the reverse reaction, however, high yields were achieved only when an excess of acetophenone was added and upon removal of pyruvate ... [Pg.880]
