Venous flow acceleration

Venous inertance (ly) is the opposition to a change in flow rate related to the mass of the bolus of blood that is accelerated or decelerated. The inertance R for a cylindrical tube with constant cross-sectional area is ly = LpfA, where L is the length of the vessel, p is the density of the blood, and A is the cross-sectional area [4]. [Pg.1000]
