Using Molten Fluoride Melts for Silicon Electrorefining

One of the main elements present with Si in silicon wastes is iron. Therefore, the subject of this chapter is to demonstrate that electrorefining is a valid technique to recover pure silicon (more than 99.9 mass%) from wastes containing iron. 

In the frame of a production route based on electrorefining in molten fluoride melts, it was decided to consider the following route for the production of pure Si layers on a cathodic substrate, from Si-Fe compounds
