Use of the Design Correlation

When rating an existing agitator/vessel, the impeller type, speed, and diameter are known with the fluid physical properties. Now Po / Re can be calculated and the operating regime identified. Then 1/Fo can be calculated and the blend time calculated as the final step. Also, the standard deviation of the constants can be used to give a level of confidence to be included in the design procedure. 

Approximately 67% of observations will lie within 1 standard deviation. Similarly, 95% lie within 2 standard deviations and 99% lie within 3 standard deviations. So the level of confidence can be incorporated into the design process by defining the correlation constant to be used as
