Urine volume/flow, osmotic diuretics

All substances that increase the urinary flow are called diuretics. The diuretics which are most used therapeutically produce an inhibition of the tubular reabsorption of Na+ and C1-, which gives an excretion of the electrolytes, which osmotically bind water and thus increase urine volume. [Pg.78]
