Rosen (1971) is the only investigator known by the writer to have measured the temperature dependence of the elastic properties of ytterbium. Using an ultrasonic pulse technique (10 MHz) to determine acoustic wave velocities in polycrystalline ytterbium Rosen obtained the results given in figs. 8.85 and 8.86.
