Type B operations

In the past, the distinction between small- (laboratory) scale and large-scale operations was arbitrarily set at 101. The EC Directives seem to have confused this issue of scale by introducing type A and type B operations... 

For the purposes of this chapter, type B operations are taken to mean large scale where the containment levels B2 to B4 are applied where appropriate for Group II GMOs.
