Tungsten VI fluoride

Tungsten(VI) fluoride (WF6) and molybdenum(VI) fluoride (MoF6) are available commercially, and can be made by reaction of the metals with fluorine.4 In the case of uranium(VI) fluoride (UF6), a preparation that is claimed5 to be feasible in the laboratory uses uranium metal and chlorine trifluoride uranium(VI) fluoride is prepared6 commercially by the fluorination of uranium(IV) fluoride, itself prepared from an oxide and hydrogen fluoride. 

Tungsten(VI) fluoride is a colorless liquid with bp 17.5 °C (mp 2.3 °C) and density 3.44. It is soluble in l,l,2-trichloro-l,2,2-trifluoroethane (Freon 113), diehloromethane, and chloroform. It does not react18 with carbon disulfide, and with ethers only at elevated temperatures.9... 

Dimethyl sulfoxide reacts exothermically with tungsten(VI) fluoride to give a viscous oil which could be a complex, and from which a low yield of bis(fluoromethyl) ether can be obtained 44 sulfur tctrafluoride gives the same product, but in good yield. Also like sulfur tetrafluoride, tungsten(VI) fluoride will cleave45 sulfites [(RO)2SO] into fluorosulfites (ROSOF) at 0 C. 

Tungsten(VI) fluoride does not intercalate into graphite.29 but it does seem to react in some way46 with fullerenes C60/C70, but not as a fluorinating agent.
