Tufting and Pile Formation

Tufting is a rapid process for formation of continuous rows of yarn loops across the face of a textile backing substrate. The yarn loops cm the tufted substrate then can be cut or sheared to form a cut pile if desired. As mentioned earlier, woven and knitted pile substrates can be formed by introduction of additional yarns into woven and knitted structures.
