Trust Poor Ethics within Organization

Lack of Trust Poor Ethics within Organization [Pg.166]

Certain people will never completely trust their co-workers, management, or both. Sometimes this lack of trust is warranted, but sometimes it is overblown. I have a good friend who tells me quite often that 1 trust my fellow card players are honest, but I still want the opportunity to cut the cards.  [Pg.166]

Failure to adequately communicate is a universal problem. As mentioned before, you can never have too much communication. As an educator, I learned that I was lucky to get my point across to 80 percent of my students. The material that I would use was meant to reach approximately 60 percent of my class. Typically, 20 percent of the students were disinterested or below the level I was teaching at, and 20 percent already had an in-depth knowledge of the subject and material. [Pg.167]

I believe that communication is always a two-way street. When communication becomes a one-way street, it should no longer be termed communication. K communication is only one way, it would be better termed an edict, order, or directive, but not communication. Effective communicators are typically not only good talkers but also good listeners. [Pg.167]

Did you notice the word open in front of communication I get the impression that the people who came up with this obstacle felt that they could not mention any safety deficiencies at an open meeting. I have met many people who would never say anything in the open meeting format. Some team members do not wish to speak in front of any type of group. Some people just don t think it is their place to speak in front of the group. These same people would make a point to scuss things with you on a one-on-one basis. [Pg.167]
