The liehen Lobaria retigera (Stietaeeae), a parasite of some leaves, was found to eontain the (-)-sesterterpenoid retigeranie aeids these should not be eonfused with the triterpenoid retigerie aeids (seetion 6.4.3) isolated from the same organism.
