Trimethylsilyl-tetramethyl-l,3-disilacyclopentene

Reaction with HBr in the absence of solvent was initially carried out at —78 C. After the reaction eased off slightly, it was completed by increasing the temperature. 

The products are shown in Table 67. Only linear carbosilanes were detected simple HBr addition to the double bond did not appear. However, such an addition cannot be ruled out as a probable initial reaction step [146].
