Trimethylsilyl arenethioethers

A synthetic procedure for copper(I) thiolates that avoids the formation of Group 1 (IA) metal salts is the reaction of trimethylsilyl arenethioethers (Me3SiSAr) with copper(I) chloride (Eq. 7) (68, 69). From this reaction the only side product is volatile chlorotrimethylsilane, which can be easily removed in vacuo. [Pg.105]
