Trichlorotellurium Sulfonates

When equimolar amounts of tellurium tetrachloride and silver arenesulfonate in nitrometh-ane were magnetically stirred for 8 to 10 hours at 20°, light-grey trichlorotellurium sulfonates were obtained after vacuum distillation of the solvent from the filtered reaction mixture.  [Pg.96]

The same products were obtained from tellurium tetrachloride and the sulfonic acid anhydrides or the sulfonic acids.  [Pg.96]

The trichlorotellurium sulfonates are moisture-sensitive and foam in air. They decompose at 50°. The compounds are only soluble in polar organic solvents. The solutions are nonconducting. [Pg.97]

Trichlorotellurium sulfonates form coordination compounds with sulfonates, pyridine, thiocyanate and oxo groups as ligands.  [Pg.97]

Tris[fluoroalkoxy] tellurium fluorides are thermally unstable, moisture-sensitive liquids. [Pg.97]
