Based on the 1391 complexes that have been structurally characterized and published between 1935 and 1995, we compiled data on the central atoms and their coordination numbers. These results are summarized in Table 1.5 and Figure 1.13. All the coordination numbers are between 3 and 12 and the most common coordination number is eight (37%).
