Transfection Systems for Non-viral Carriers

One mechanism by which porous 3D scaffolds increase transfection efficiency may relate to the presence of a large surface area from which to deliver DNA to cells/ The 3D scaffold can serve as a reservoir for the complexes without aggregation, which may result in not only higher transfection efficiency, but also a longer expression time of the transgene.
