Trans-cinnamoyl

Cocaine is the principal psychoactive alkaloid from the coca plant (figure 4.16). Other tropine alkaloids include c/s-cinnamoyl cocaine, trans-cinnamoyl cocaine, o-truxillin, and j truxillin (Gruenwald et al. 1998).

We have determined the rate of hydrolysis of the endo,endo compound containing intramolecular benzoate ion, 4, and shown it to be equal to 1/18 the rate of deacylation of trans-cinnamoyl-g-chymotrypsin (Table II). Furthermore, we find that an increasing dioxane concentration in the solvent increases the reaction rate as seen before. 

It was reported that rutin, 5,7-dimethoxyflavanone-4 -0-P-d-glucopyranoside and 5,7,3 -trihydroxy-flavanone- 4 -0-P-d-glucopyranoside were active against PI-3 (Parainfluenza-3 virus), while 5,7-dimethoxyflavanone-4 -0-[2"-0- (5" -0-trans-cinnamoyl)-P-d-apiofuranosyl]-P-d- glucopyranoside inhibited potently HSV-1 (Orhan et al. 2009).
