The Tile Council of America publishes The Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation which is an excellent guide for both ceramic and quarry tile. It is an ANSI standard. [Pg.56]

The Tile Council of America developed a simple impregnation method (41). Ceramic tiles are preheated to 150 °C under a vacuum of about 30 inches of mercury. The tiles are immersed in liquid sulfur, and impregnation is completed in several minutes. Kakos and Fitzgerald (41) report that orthorhombic sulfur allotropes are preferred.
