THREE-MEMBERED RING CONTAINING ZEOLITE

Lovdardite has a particular significance as it contains three-membered rings of linked tetrahedra, which also have been identified in synthetic zeolite-like substances. [Pg.5089]

Three major locations for the cations are indicated in Figure 7.1(e). The locations are center of the 6-member or hexagonal prism (1) and opposite to 1 and located in the sodalite cage (T), similar to 1 and T but further from the central cavity (11 and IT), and the 12-ring aperture (111 and llT). The commercial lOX zeolite contains Ca+ as the major cation, and Na+ is the major cation for 13X zeolite. The distribution of Na+, K+, Ca+, other cations, and H2O among the sites in X and Y zeolites has been discussed in detail by Barrer (1978). Cation sites for important cations in X and Y zeolites will be given in 7.4.1. The BET surface area measured with N2 for zeolites falls in the range between 500 and 800 m /g. [Pg.160]
