Three-high continuous mill

Most primary hot rolling is carried out in either a two-high reversing mill or a three-high continuous mill. [Pg.271]

In the three-high continuous mill, Fig. 15.5, the rolls are constandy rotating, the metal being fed between the centre and upper rolls in one direction and between the centre and lower rolls in the other. A platform is positioned such that it can be raised to feed the metal through in one direction or support it coming out from between the rolls in the opposite direction or be lowered to feed the metal back through or to support it coming out from between the rolls in the opposite directions. [Pg.272]
