Aromatic phthalimidosulfenylationr The reaction usually takes place at room temperature. No catalyst is required for activated arenes. From the products, a synthesis of o-thioquinones is developed. 

A [2+4] cycloaddition of o-thioquinones 55 with pentafulvenes 56 constitutes an efficient protocol for the synthesis of benzoxathiins 57 (Scheme 7.13) [15].
