The Use of Civil Aircraft for Military Purposes

The use of civil aircraft for military purposes brings to bear issues of identihca-tion of aircraft and the status of aircraft under article 3 of the Chicago Convention.  

Article 3 of the Chicago Convention states that the Convention applies only to civil aircraft and not to State aircraft, and goes on to explain that aircraft used in military, customs and police services shall be deemed to be State aircraft. Article 3 c) prohibits State aircraft of one State from
