The structure of memory sets

Memory sets and set systems The structure of memory sets [Pg.287]

The elements of the proposed model are neuron sets. An element may be weakly or strongly active. If an element is active (weakly or strongly) it may activate a neighboring element (weakly or strongly). This lasts one elementary time. [Pg.287]

An element is only activated strongly if it is activated by two or more elements which are synchronous to each other. Activations may be asymmetrical or symmetrical. Symmetrical activation means an element activates its neighboring element after one elementary time and the neighboring element reactivates the first element after another elementary time. [Pg.287]

The term memory set is used as the generic term for all these sets (task set, sensorimotor set etc.).The task set (TS) is a special memory set. The basic elements of this memory set are called task elements. These task elements do not have any real relationship to each other, therefore the task set can search on them randomly. If there would be any relationship between the task elements, this relationship would influence the searching sequence on the task elements. The sensorimotor set (SMS) [Pg.287]
