The Reduction of Manganese Dioxides by Hydrazine Hydrate

This is a fairly fast reaction and its kinetics can be followed by measuring the volume of 

Place 2.00 g of Mn02 eg 1CS5 into flask F of a larger scale version of Fig.2.14 add 20 cm water and keep stirring magnetically. Pipette into E 20.0 cm of hydrazine solution made by successive dilution (50-fold in the final solution) from purest N2H4.H2O. Mix the solutions as previously described (Sec.I2.S.4) while starting the chart recorder.
