The O2 Molecule and Its Magnetism

The dioxygen molecule, O2, constitutes 20.95% of all the gasses in our atmosphere, and it makes Ufe possible. It may seem puzzUng that we have not yet constructed 

The beauty of science is that when we say something, we can test it by doing an experiment. Indeed, there are beautiful experiments on the Web showing how a test tube of liquid O2 (at very low temperature) is attracted to the poles of a magnet (see demonstrations). Note that the 0=0 formulation is available to O2, but it belongs to a higher-energy state.
