The Kharasch Reaction and Related Reactions

Recently, immobilized metal ion-containing ionic liquids were presented for the Kharasch reaction [85]. Whereas copper salts proved to be suitable catalysts in the addition of CCI4 to styrene, FeCl2 gave poor results (12% product yield). 

Another interesting functionalization of carbon-carbon double bonds is the aminochlorination reaction. This transformation has beenknown for a long time [86]. Not only iron but also chromium, palladium and copper compounds can be used [87].
