The escape sequences

Escape codes are to be used for symbols which cannot be represented by the basic alphabet defined in The alphabet level on page 159. The escape codes together with the normal alphabet constitute the extended alphabet . Several extend alphabets are available. They are selected and unselected by alphabetical escape codes  [Pg.215]

escape code IS06937 selects the extended character set as documented in The Latin alphabet (IS06937) . [Pg.215]

escape code KANJI I selects the extended character set of Kanji characters which have sequence codes between 0 and 9999. [Pg.215]

IS06937/2 is used as a basis for coding the decimal coded character representations (DCC) of Latin characters. The coding method B of the ISO standard is used. According to this method, Latin characters are coded by one or two pairs of integers  [Pg.215]
