Tetra-n-butylammonium phenoxide

Cyanophenylazophenylsulphide in dimethylsulphoxide was added to a solution of tetra-n-butylammonium phenoxide in the same solvent and after reaction at ambient temperature for 2 hour and acidification of the mixture 2-(4-cyanophenyl)phenol and 4-(4-cyanophenyl)phenol (in 3 1 proportton) were isolated in 60% yield (ref. 113).
