Testing of Carbon Fiber Composite

In the composite tests to follow, the reader is referred to text books on elassical beam theory should one wish to derive the theory [20-23]. Many excellent publications have been written on the subject of composite materials covering analysis, mechanics, principles and performance [24-49]. 

Gi2 = in plane shear modulus = shear modulus in 1-2 plane = 21 (J23 = shear modulus in 2-3 plane = G32 (5i3 = shear modulus in 1-3 plane = 31 

V12 = major Poisson s ratio (load in 1 -direction, strain in 2-direction)(please note that this is different from V21, which is the minor Poisson s ratio)
