Nowadays, there are two groups working constantly on the development of an efficient El-based LC-MS interface the group directed by Prof. Cappiello at the University of Urbino (Italy) who developed the Direct-EI interface, and the one directed by Prof. Amirav at Tel Aviv University (Israel) who developed the supersonic LC-MS. Each group is following a distinctive pathway to achieve this common goal. [Pg.247]

The authors are grateful to Ran Friedman, from Tel-Aviv University, Israel for his help with the theoretical calculations. The research in the Laser Laboratory for Fast Reactions in Biology is supported by the Israeli Science Foundation (472/01-2) and the American Israel Binational Science Foundation (2002-129). The molecular dynamics calculations were carried out in the High Performance Computing Unit of the Inter University Computing Center. [Pg.1522]

Dmitry (Dima) Shvartsman was bom in Kharkov (Ukraine). He graduated from Tel Aviv University (Israel), where he focused his studies on the biophysical properties of the cell plasma membrane and dynamics of interaaions between membrane proteins and membrane domains. He received the Long-Term Postdoctoral Fellov> hip from the European Molecular Biology Oiganization (EMBO) to conduct his postdoctoral studies in Cell and Tissue Engineering laboratory at Harvard Univeisity under the supervision of Prof. David Mooney. [Pg.495]
