Tectons and building blocks

In its present meaning, tecton was first used in the early 1990 s, [36-38] and the occasional earlier findings of the word in chemical context is associated with geochemistry and the earth s tectonic plates. It is used sparingly, some 10-15 citations a year. 

As we are aiming for a wider audience, we will avoid using tecton in this book and in general we will refer to the constituents of a net as building blocks .
