Technical Advantages of Degradable Mulching Films

Plastic mulch performs the same function as straw but does so much more effectively since it creates a closed micro-climate at the plant roots that is not possible with biological materials. This results in earlier cropping (7-12 days) and much increased yields (Chapter 2, Table 2.5).
